Position Description
Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time position of Associate Athletic Trainer to work with our 19 Division I sport program. This position assists the Head Athletic Trainers and staff with the safety and welfare of the student-athletes.
Job Responsibilities
- Aid the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer with the day to day operations of the athletic training room.
- Provide treatment and care to injured athletes.
- Serve as liaison between team physicians, athletic administrators and coaches.
- Maintain comprehensive medical documentation.
- Aid in the administering of institutional drug testing program, game/event and practice coverage and team travel.
- Collaborate with assistant athletic trainers and supervise work study students.
- Aid in the processing of secondary insurance claims.
- Aid in pre-participation health screens.
Requirements
- NATABOC certified, NY State licensed or eligible.
- CPR / AED certified.
- Strong computer, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel, work evenings, weekends and some holidays as needed.
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the college or professional sports setting.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift equipment on occasion and work in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
