About the Role

Binghamton University is an NCAA Division I institution in the America East Conference, located in Binghamton, NY, with 21 intercollegiate athletic teams. The university is seeking an Athletic Trainer to join its Sports Medicine Team, with anticipated potential sport assignments of men's basketball and a secondary sport.

The Sports Medicine Team provides efficient and effective interdisciplinary care to prevent and manage athletic-related injuries or illnesses. Treatment is based on sound medical principles, considering personal and team goals, and delivered in a professional and ethical environment. Athletic Trainers at Binghamton are certified by and members of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic training services for assigned sports, including injury prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
• Deliver care based on sound medical principles in alignment with team and individual goals.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards as outlined by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and Board of Certification (BOC).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Athletic Training from an accredited institution.
• Current, or eligible for, certification by the Board of Certification (BOC).
• In good standing with the NATA, BOC, the local NATA District, and the State Athletic Trainers’ Association.
• Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification pursuant to Public Health Law Section 3000-b (3) (a).
• CPR certification for the Professional Rescuer.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in NYS, when needed for practice and competition.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid licensure as a Certified Athletic Trainer for the State of New York by time of appointment.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
• Experience working in a collegiate setting, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
