Associate Accountant

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze data using established finance systems and protocols.
• Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
• Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.
• Afford assistance with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.

Skills

• Create reports for various audiences as relevant, in a lucid and effective manner, keeping in mind the purpose of reports.
• Understand numerical concepts and use them to carry out mathematical operations e.g. in order to analyze reports.
• Systematically estimate, allocate, and control costs in order to manage financial resources effectively.
• Interpret and apply knowledge of laws, regulations and policies in area of expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance (a degree in progress is preferred).
• General experience of 4 to 6 months.
• Knowledge of accounting fundamentals and principles.
• Bookkeeping experience.
• Experience with ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, and bank account reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Understanding of numerical concepts and ability to perform mathematical operations.
• Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies.
