About the role
The Associate Account Manager supports delivery of utility-sponsored energy-efficiency programs for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers within an assigned territory. This role helps business customers and their contractors identify, pursue, and complete energy-saving projects that qualify for utility incentives and rebates. This is an entry-to-mid-level account management role, well suited to someone early in their energy efficiency or client-facing career who wants to build technical program knowledge, customer relationship skills, and utility-program expertise.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current accounts and develop new accounts for lower kWh goals for one or more programs. Accounts can be low risk and transitional.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, provide technical advice, guidance and training on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement in accordance with client specifications.

- Provide input and status updates to program staff.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of C&I customers, facilities staff, and trade contractors participating in utility energy-efficiency programs.
- Promote available energy-efficiency measures, financial incentives, and rebate programs to commercial and industrial accounts, and help customers understand program eligibility and requirements.
- Support customers and contractors through the project lifecycle — from initial site engagement and application through installation, verification, and incentive payment.
- Conduct or assist with on-site visits to commercial and industrial facilities to assess energy-saving opportunities and gather project documentation.
- Prepare and review project proposals, applications, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness in line with program and utility requirements.
- Track account and project status in CRM/program tracking systems; maintain accurate, up-to-date records of customer interactions and project milestones.
