About the Role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and supportive services under RN supervision.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly patient care environment.
• Demonstrates service excellence to enhance patient and family satisfaction.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually (required for the Psychiatric unit only).
• Less than one year of experience.

Skills

• Demonstrates teamwork and professional communication with the healthcare team.
• Ability to learn and apply hospital computer technologies and procedures related to patient care.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Qualifications

Provides care for patients of all age groups.
