Job Description

The Associate Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/Assistant Distance Coach for Men’s and Women’s Track and Field provides leadership, coaching, recruiting, and program support for the Ole Miss Track and Field and Cross-Country programs. This position assists with the development and performance of student-athletes in distance events while supporting both the men’s and women’s programs in training, competition preparation, and recruiting efforts. The role works closely with the head coaches and athletics staff to advance the competitive success and overall mission of the program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Aid in coaching and training student-athletes in men’s and women’s distance events (800m, 1500m/mile, 3000m/steeplechase, 5000m, 10,000m and cross country).
  • Support the overall development of men’s and women’s track and field student-athletes.
  • Serve as a key member of the coaching staff and provide leadership in day-to-day program operations.
  • Aid in recruiting, evaluation, relationship building, and retention of prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist with practice planning, competition preparation, travel coordination, and meet-day responsibilities.
  • Help monitor the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with the head coaches, support staff, and athletics administration to ensure program alignment and compliance.
  • Aid in video, scouting, and performance analysis as needed.
