About the Role
Assists in performing the coordination and integration of different departments to ensure that aircraft or components are on schedule, mitigate risks in a timely manner, and meet Dassault quality and safety standards. The goal is to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most judicious, and most economical way.
Responsibilities
- Assists in assessing risks induced by new tasks or reworks on aircraft progress, defining action plans to mitigate those risks, and proposing risk reduction plans for future improvement.
- Participates in daily technical action plans and follows up with assembly team managers concerning task assignments, operations, and discrepancies to be performed on aircraft/components according to schedule and expected quality level.
- Conducts daily monitoring of critical issues (e.g., shortages, technical events, schedule) and implements actions necessary to keep the production line moving.
- Reports critical issues to the Business Unit Manager with input regarding recommendations and actions to resolve them.
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials, parts, documentation, engineering data, and other items to the aircraft or shop.
- Identifies and proposes action plans to improve processes or products in terms of cost, schedule, and quality.
- Supports aircraft/component transfers, projects, and new processes.
- Conducts root cause analysis and defines corrective action plans.
- Utilizes support teams to maintain the aircraft/component production process and improve the schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Engineering, Business, or a related field. Relevant education from an accredited college or university may be substituted with years of experience (1 year of education = 2 years of experience).
- Knowledge of engineering practices and challenges related to production process management.
- Ability to research, analyze, and recommend efficient production processes using concepts such as work-study, ergonomics, operations research, root cause analysis, manufacturing management, materials management, and production planning.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate technical information contained in aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems by determining and following detailed action plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project and SharePoint.
- Ability to function throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and accessing aircraft, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in French.
- Aeronautical experience.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
- Leadership experience.
- Formal training in Lean/Continuous Improvement.
- Formal training in project management.
- Knowledge of Visual Basic.
Working Conditions
- Typical office and manufacturing environments.
- Must be able to work for long periods at a computer terminal.
- Exposure to manufacturing environment and noise; cannot be sensitive to these conditions.
- Travel by surface and air, including international, as required.
- This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and concentration, as lapses could result in injury, illness, or death.
Pay
Compensation for this position typically ranges between $58,543.00 and $78,193.00 per year. The final offer will depend on factors such as relevant experience, education/certifications, geographic location, and shift. This position is not eligible for overtime under FLSA guidelines but may qualify for shift differential.
