About the role

This position has responsibility for directing, planning and leading operations in the areas of production, distribution and maintenance to ensure the required business objectives and strategies for the West region of USIG are met in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. You will have accountability for the day-to-day operations of the Southern California area (Wilmington, CA and Long Beach CA production and distribution operations).

This position works closely with and reports to the West Region Director of Operations. You will direct a group of employees and/or consultants to flawlessly execute operational requirements, change and/or process improvements. The role involves creating and managing complex operational plans that result in the accomplishment of business objectives, directing and leading complex or unusual assignments across functional areas, and acting as the primary interface coordinating activities with other departments, businesses, and functions.

You will establish goals, promote decision-making, delegate as appropriate, and overcome obstacles. The role includes a leadership role in creation and oversight of productivity optimization, working with strategic independence, and conferring with Senior and Executive Management on complex assignments. You will monitor external and internal trends, develop procedures, make judgments, and take organization-wide actions that set precedents, focusing on planning and execution for the current year.

Additionally, you will staff, train, coach, and administer performance reviews, salary increases, and corrective action of subordinate employees. Ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures, leading operational discipline, and working closely with the SH&E organization to achieve established goals is critical. You will also ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and Linde policies regarding environmental, permitting, and product quality requirements.

Other responsibilities include developing, implementing, and supporting Lean Six Sigma and Cost Reduction projects, managing and achieving plant and product supply reliability goals, managing plant fixed and variable cost goals, developing monthly business reports covering financial performance, and creating action plans to address deficiencies. You will work across all levels of Linde organizations to achieve desired results in a cohesive and effective management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • More than six (6+) years of Operations experience
  • More than three (3+) years of Plant Management experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive execution of projects and strategic and tactical initiatives
  • Proven leadership, team building, and decision-making skills
  • Reliability and efficiency focused with strong planning and execution skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce

Pay

Open to salary range $125,475 - $184,030.
