Assoc Director, HR Operational Excellence

Essential Duties And Job Functions

  • Operational Excellence Lead process design and continuous improvement efforts, partnering with key stakeholders in HR, Legal, Public Affairs, IT, and Finance for sustainability and compliance.
  • Recommend and implement improvements, making reasoned trade-offs between ongoing effort, global applicability and efficiency to deliver optimal and consistent employee experience.
  • Analyze data, gather feedback from the organization, and engage stakeholders to drive improved process and business performance in support of the E2E Process improvement strategies.
  • Leverage employee/customer/data insights to drive prioritized service, process and technology solutions to further enhance global service delivery.
  • Cook up and implement project management methodologies and tools to design and deliver key HR processes, coordinate various workstreams and ensure projects are rolled out to the business in a timely, well-coordinated and high-impact manner.
  • Organize teams, structure the work and set timelines through comprehensive project plans, and ensure timely deliverables, assessing risks and anticipating obstacles.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders and teams to provide encouragement, identify problems and create solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA / BS degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • MA / MS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • PhD and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as Shared Services, HR Business Partner or Center of Excellence team member preferred.
  • Significant experience of business process reengineering and process design at global scale.
  • Significant experience in facilitating process improvement workshops.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Value Stream Mapping.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Prominent facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Proven track record in strategic thinking, project management and managing change.
  • Able to assess and prioritize conflicting business priorities, quickly resolve issues and address root causes while multi-tasking in a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to lead by influence outside of hierarchy and build strong, collaborative relationships within and outside of HR.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $157,250.00 - $203,500.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
