Assistant Women's Soccer Coach, Part-time

About the role

The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach supports all aspects of the Meredith College soccer program. This position works closely with the Head Coach to provide a positive, competitive, and student-centered experience for our student-athletes while upholding the mission and values of Meredith College, NCAA Division III, and the USA South Athletic Conference.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching & Player Development
    • Affiliate with the planning and implementation of all training sessions and practice plans.
    • Attend and actively coach at all team practices, competitions, and team activities as assigned.
    • Affiliate with game preparation, scouting, in-game coaching, and post-game evaluation.
    • Provide individual skill instruction and player development.
    • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, accountability, leadership, and academic success.
  • Recruiting
    • Actively recruit prospective student-athletes through off-campus recruiting, including high school matches, club tournaments, showcases, and other recruiting events.
    • Build and maintain relationships with club and high school coaches.
    • Communicate regularly with prospective student-athletes and their families throughout the recruiting process.
    • Affiliate with planning and coordinating on-campus recruiting visits, including itineraries, campus tours, meetings, and game day experiences.
    • Maintain accurate recruiting records and assist with recruiting database management.
  • Program Administration
    • Affiliate with travel planning and serve as a driver for team travel when needed.
    • Affiliate with team communications and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
    • Help coordinate team events, community service activities, and alumni engagement opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Colege coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of soccer and player development.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
  • Valid NC driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
