Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Location: Morris, Minnesota • Part-time • Short-term posting (August 1 – December 31, 2026) with possibility for extension.

About the role

The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach supports all aspects of building a competitive NCAA Division III women’s soccer program that advances the mission of intercollegiate athletics and the University. The assistant coach works with the head coach to recruit and retain student-athletes, develop coaching plans, ensure student safety and well-being, comply with NCAA/UMAC/university policies, manage budgets, oversee equipment, plan travel, run summer camps, and assist with program communication and fundraising.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in recruiting and retaining qualified, talented student-athletes.
• Coach student-athletes and foster skill development during practices and competitions.
• Develop and implement coaching plans.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of student-athletes.
• Comply with NCAA, UMAC, and university policies and regulations.
• Provide sound fiscal management and assist in equipment oversight.
• Plan scheduling, travel, and summer camps.
• Support off-season programs and athlete development.
• Assist in program communication and fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with the Office of Admissions to build and retain a diverse team.
• Foster good sportsmanship, respect, and an environment that supports students in achieving athletic, academic, and life goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated effectiveness playing and/or coaching soccer.
• Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills.
• Appreciation for the philosophy of NCAA Division III.
• Strong program management skills and ability to recruit and retain student-athletes.
• Demonstrated commitment to students’ athletic and academic success.
• Ability to build, motivate, and retain a diverse, inclusive team with sensitivity to individuals of all cultural backgrounds.
• Capacity to be a visible and engaging leader.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (preferred).
• College coaching experience and/or participation at the collegiate level (preferred).

Pay

$31,010 – $32,500 annually.
