Assistant Vice President of Garage Claims

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Garage Claims, is responsible for overseeing Argo Group's Garage Claims Department. Reporting to the SVP, Specialty Claims, this role involves delivering expert claims guidance, leading process improvements, recruiting, coaching, and retaining high-performing claims professionals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert claims guidance in Garage lines, driving timely and accurate results while shaping cost-effective litigation strategies.
• Champion strong claims management principles, setting and achieving performance goals, and implementing data-driven claim management.
• Lead process improvements, collaborating cross-functionally to boost systems, workflows, and operational efficiency.
• Recruit, coach, and retain high-performing claims professionals, cultivating technical excellence and exceptional service.
• Model Argo’s values, championing strong claims management and a positive, growth-focused culture for lasting organizational success.

Requirements

• Over a decade of commercial auto garage claims expertise with strong knowledge of bodily injury.
• Significant experience in Garage Claims, including Bodily Injury, as an SME for Underwriting.
• Advanced skills in claims resolution, settlement practices, and technical procedures, consistently delivering timely, cost-effective results.
• Strong business acumen, analytical decision-making, and resilience, thriving in fast-paced environments and adapting to evolving challenges.
• Leadership qualities, including emotional intelligence, fostering collaboration, providing meaningful coaching, and building strong relationships across teams and partners.
• Confident communication skills, leveraging polished presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite and key business software.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience working in a claims environment, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Knowledge of insurance policies and claims processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay

The typical base salary range is $166,000 - $194,000 (based on experience and location).

Schedule

This position requires being primarily in the office five days a week.
