Duties
- Prepare credit memos on new deals and annual reviews for extensions of credit to private equity funds, private credit funds, business development companies and asset management companies.
- Perform financial, industry and risk analysis to support derivative, financing and lending activity to this client base.
- Work with relationship managers, business lines, risk partners, legal and clients to ensure proper structuring of new transactions and credit terms in legal agreements.
- Assign internal risk ratings for clients and deals to drive capital requirements and internal approval delegation.
- Utilize internal credit analytics tools to simulate counterparty credit risk exposures and mitigate limit breaches.
- Evaluate complex structures of private equity/credit funds and recommend appropriate remedies for risk mitigation through guarantees and other legal protections.
- Lead due diligence calls / meetings with clients to evaluate key risk factors including entity structure, leverage, liquidity, investor base composition and trading strategy.
- Train junior team members on key credit skills and considerations to ensure no credit losses for the firm.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects for improvements in credit risk frameworks, tools and senior level industry analysis around the sector specialty.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in offered or related roles.
- Three (3) year of experience with: Financial Sponsors and Alternative Funds;
- Analyzing Financial Statements of Private Investment Funds, including leverage, liquidity, performance, portfolio diversification and asset quality;
- Counterparty Credit Risk focused on fund structures, market dynamics for illiquid alternative funds and structuring deals and credit proposals;
- Expertise in banking products, covering both lending (capital call subscription lines, BDC revolvers, NAV lending) and capital markets (FX and rates hedging, loan TRS, repo, Prime Brokerage) offerings;
- Familiarity with credit terms in key legal agreements which include ISDA, GMRA, and loan documentation;
- Knowhow of Private Equity and Private Credit Financing;
- Proficiency in MS Tools;
- Portfolio Management.
Salary
$140,000 - $150,000/year
Work Schedule
9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week. (Monday – Friday)
