About the role

Yancey Bros. Co., established in 1914, serves as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, focusing on sales, parts, and service for heavy and compact construction equipment, as well as on-highway trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategies to market and sell used equipment.
  • Executes strategic initiatives to protect market share and identify growth opportunities.
  • Conducts market analysis to understand competitive positioning and customer needs.
  • Maintains strong relationships with key accounts and prospects to ensure loyalty and long-term engagement.
  • Collaborates with sales, marketing, and operations teams to implement targeted campaigns and service enhancements.
  • Monitors performance metrics and adjusts strategies to respond to market dynamics and competitor activity.
  • Oversees the inventory of used equipment, tracking its location, condition, and value, and ensures accurate records are maintained.
  • Collaborates with the Heavy Rents & Used Equipment Service Manager on reconditioning used equipment, ensuring it meets quality standards for resale or rental.
  • Provides support to the sales team, including appraisals, trade values, and market information.
  • Manages and reports on used equipment margins, turnover, and aged inventory levels.
  • Works with various departments, including sales, service, parts, and warranty, to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Adheres to all Yancey Bros. Co. Safety procedures and standards.
  • Handles customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the used equipment industry.
  • A strong focus on safety, customer, and employee satisfaction.
  • Prior knowledge of work planning, scheduling, and supervisory activities.
  • A high school diploma or related education, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in used equipment or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory and sales management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Change management skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Dynamics and the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Comprehension, speaking, and writing proficiency in the English language.
  • Knowledge of Spanish language preferable but not required.
