Job Summary

The Transportation Equipment Network (TEN) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Used Equipment Manager to lead the sourcing and acquisition of late-model transportation equipment throughout North America. This role supports TEN's fleet modernization strategy by identifying, evaluating, and securing high-quality equipment that aligns with customer demand, operational objectives, and capital investment goals.

About the Role

This is an individual contributor role with significant influence across multiple departments. While the position does not have direct reports, it requires strong collaboration and partnership with stakeholders throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for late-model used trailer equipment across North America.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities through industry networking, market intelligence, and proactive sourcing efforts.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with fleet operators, leasing companies, dealers, financial institutions, and other industry partners to identify off-market opportunities.
  • Evaluate equipment acquisitions based on asset condition, fleet requirements, utilization needs, and financial performance.
  • Coincoperate inspections, condition assessments, and pricing analysis while partnering with cross-functional teams to determine acquisition viability.
  • Maintain market trends, equipment values, and industry activity to identify sourcing opportunities and support capital investment decisions.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations, market insights, and sourcing updates to leadership.
  • Represent TEN at industry events and travel throughout the United States and Canada to support sourcing initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation equipment, fleet management, leasing, procurement, business development, remarketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated network within transportation, logistics, leasing, fleet management, or equipment ownership sectors.
  • Proven success sourcing and acquiring transportation equipment in competitive markets.
  • Strong understanding of trailer specifications, equipment valuation, depreciation, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple acquisition opportunities simultaneously.
  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
