Responsibilities

  • Prosecute federal criminal offenses
  • Prepare and present appeals
  • Work on a diverse caseload
  • Handle own trials and appeals
  • Part of a dedicated team prosecuting federal criminal cases

Requirements

  • J.D. degree and active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction)
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Reside in the district to which appointed or within 25 miles thereof
  • Pass background investigation and drug test
  • Pass selective service requirement (if applicable)

Qualifications

  • Required: J.D. Degree, active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction)
  • Preferred: Self-motivated, impeccable integrity, commitment to professionalism, ethics, justice, and public service

Benefits

Salary range: $76,748 to $197,100, including 17.06% locality pay.

Other benefits include: paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, telework, life insurance, health benefits, and participation in the Federal Employees Retirement System.
