About the role
The Assistant Transportation Supervisor assists the Transportation Supervisor in administering, coordinating, and managing the Field Office and staff in compliance with state and federal laws, TransCor policies, customer contracts, and applicable government regulations.
Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and monitor Transportation Officers in all aspects of transportation operations, including administration, regulatory compliance, officer management, safety and security, customer service, trip efficiency, reporting, risk management, asset management, and policy adherence.
- Communicate and support TransCor America’s vision, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Guide staff in the safe and orderly operation of the Field Office to promote public and staff safety, as well as a secure environment for inmates, detainees, and/or residents.
- Assist in scheduling and planning required trip activity as directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
- Follow operational policies, procedures, and emergency plans to ensure compliance with federal/state laws, TransCor policies, and contractual obligations.
- Communicate responsibilities, authority, and accountability to direct subordinates and motivate staff to perform duties in line with policies.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct maintenance on equipment, including restraints, weapons, and vehicles, as directed.
- Attend staff meetings to maintain effective communication and operational consistency.
- Promote effective communication and information flow among management, staff, contracting agencies, and the public using tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
- Foster a positive work environment through mentoring, coaching, and feedback while keeping the Transportation Supervisor informed of operational and staff issues.
- Read, analyze, and interpret documents, policies, regulations, reports, and directions for forms completion.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Corrections, Security, Military Police, Law Enforcement, Inmate/Detainee Transportation, or a related field.
- Superior interpersonal abilities, including the ability to interact tactfully with diverse personalities and practice flexibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class B commercial driver’s license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Supervisor or management experience in Corrections, Transportation, or a related industry.
Pay
Hourly rate: $40.84
