Duties
- Help Plans and directs the activities of employees engaged in performing a wide variety of First and Second Destination Transportation.
- Oversees clerical and complex technical Transportation Assistant functions involved in coordinating the movement of inbound and outbound shipments, scheduling and coordinating carrier delivery or pick-up of freight.
- Arranges for the most economical shipment of freight; processes associated documents; and performs various other tasks associated with the movement of materials.
- Directs section operations through subordinates involved in procedural, routine and typically provides services to the Transportation Branch.
- Participates in meetings with Disposition Services to provide information on the workload accomplished by the branch in support of their mission.

- Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.
- Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive.
- Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
- Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt.
- Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

- Completion of Supervisory Certification Program: Required.

- This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Distribution Susquehanna in New Cumberland, PA.

Qualifications
- To qualify for a Supervisory Transportation Assistant, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.
- Education: As a general rule, education is not credible above GS-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate's education is directly related to the work of the position.
