About the role
Supporting the Supervisor to deliver excellent customer service, positively contribute to ensuring a clean, tidy and efficient department, and maintaining Health and Safety standards are always adhered to.
Responsibilities
- Work within a small team to build and maintain strong customer relationships, driving sales and seeking new business opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations in the department both over the phone and in person.
- Greet customers, offer assistance, recommend products and offers, and refer to experts when required.
- Ensure excellent customer service levels are always achieved, in person and over the phone, building long-term relationships and reputation.
- Provide customers with product information by staying informed on the latest industry trends.
- Process orders and work with other departments to schedule deliveries.
- Research required information using available resources.
- Use a forklift truck to re-stock the department and move stock to other areas of the business.
- Work with a strong team ethos to ensure an efficient, productive, and organized department is maintained.
- Collaborate to complete the required daily duties.
- Handle and resolve basic complaints and escalate if necessary.
- Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Supervisor or Manager to aid business or department success.
- Assist the department with regular sequential stock counting.
- Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.
- Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.
- Adhere to and deliver the Group Values in all aspects of the role.
Requirements
- Sales and customer service experience.
- Understands and adheres to client confidentiality.
- Holds a valid forklift truck licence or is willing to complete training to obtain one.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to work within a team and collaboratively across departments.
- Good IT skills and ability to adapt to bespoke software.
- Organized with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Works in a professional manner in all aspects of the role.
- Basic commercial awareness.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of timber products.
