About the role
The Assistant Technical Designer will support various categories including woven, knits, sweaters, and outerwear, spanning skills in fit and sample development.
Responsibilities
- Notifies teams of new samples from overseas for fit.
- Prepares samples for Fit Sessions.
- Makes measurements, compares construction and overall execution to tech packs, records results, and writes reports.
- Participates in fit sessions to expand knowledge and experience across categories.
- Aids in report writing as needed.
- Modifies construction sketches and tech pack specifications as necessary.
- Communicates and interacts with internal and external partners regarding sample status, fit comments, and garment construction comments.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of fit, garment construction, and sample measuring.
- Ability to create technical sketches using computer software tools and manual sketches.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A cooperative, positive attitude.
- Accepts feedback and engages in conversations to deepen knowledge base.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 1-year course completion in Technical Design or Design related studies.
- Internship or industry experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Periods of time sitting and standing, working at a desk and on a computer.
- Ability to communicate information and observe details at close range.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
