The Finance and Legal Studies Department in the Ed G. Smith College of Business at the University of Missouri–St. Louis invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor full-time position, beginning Winter 2027. The University of Missouri–St. Louis is a public research university located in suburban St. Louis, part of the four-campus University of Missouri system.

About the Role

The Ed G. Smith College of Business is accredited by AACSB and provides a supportive environment for teaching, research, and service. The Finance and Legal Studies Department teaches undergraduate and master’s level courses.

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, particularly related to FinTech, including but not limited to Computer Applications in Finance, Investments, and others.
  • Serve as advisor to the Student Investment Trust (Triton Investment Club).
  • Engage in community outreach and serve on College- and University-level committees.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in a directly related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or a master’s degree in a directly related field from an AACSB-accredited institution with at least five (5) years of industry experience.
  • A strong record of teaching effectiveness, ideally including Financial Management, Investments, and Computer Applications in Finance or other FinTech courses.
  • Experience in and commitment to student engagement and community outreach activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant business or professional experience in finance-related industries.
  • Active research and scholarly activities.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate classes.
