Assistant Teaching Professor in Chemistry (Teaching-track faculty)
About the role
The Department of Chemistry at Emory University invites applications for a teaching-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor starting in the Fall 2026 semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach the first-year undergraduate laboratory courses in the innovative undergraduate curriculum, Chemistry Unbound (https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/acs.jchemed.8b00585?rand=7v7wy2cq).
- Participate in faculty governance of the department and university.
- Mentor undergraduate students.
- Optional involvement in Emory’s summer study abroad program in Siena, Italy.
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold a PhD by the time of appointment.
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate strong commitment to teaching undergraduate laboratory and lecture courses and a strong interest in pedagogy.
Skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.

The appointee will join a cohesive group of tenure track (28) and teaching track (7) faculty.
