Responsibilities

Include large, in-person introductory courses as well as advanced undergraduate courses; course assignments may evolve over time and may include online teaching.

Initial teaching assignments are two courses per semester and service work within the department, which may focus on issues of TA management, undergraduate affairs, and other parts of the life of the department and the college.

The successful candidates will have excellent teaching and communications skills and provide effective and welcoming learning experiences for students.

Teaching faculty are fully integrated into the department with voting rights on all matters, save for a few such as the granting of tenure.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have a PhD in chemistry or a closely related area by the time of appointment.

Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.

Experience managing teaching assistants (TAs) is preferred.

Ability or willingness to teach or revise online courses is preferred.
