About the role
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, within the College of Health and Human Services, is seeking a 9-month full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, non-tenure eligible, with a preferred start date in August 2026. Specialization in one or more of the following areas is preferred: speech sound disorders (phonological disorders and articulation), motor speech disorders, and cranio-facial disorders. Strong applicants with expertise in other areas that complement our current research and teaching faculty will be considered. This position is located on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus with a projected start date of August 17, 2026.
Responsibilities Include
- Teach 4 courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels (in person and/or online).
- Teaching can include clinical education to graduate students in our on-campus clinic in the area of expertise.
- Provide service to the program, school, college, and university.
- Opportunity for scholarly work, which includes the dissemination of peer-reviewed research and the pursuit of external funding.
Minimum Qualifications
- A terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field is required.
- ABD with expected completion by hire date will be considered.
- CCC-SLP and eligibility for Arizona State Licensure.
