Assistant Teaching Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders
About the role
Candidates are invited to apply for two Assistant Teaching Professor positions in Communication Sciences and Disorders. These positions are Full-Time, Non-Tenure-Line faculty positions with a renewable 36-week appointment to support the B.S. in Communication Science and Disorders and the M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology programs.
Responsibilities
The successful candidates will contribute to our efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for students, foster robust, collaborative scholarship, and engage in service activities supporting institutional goals.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related field is required, with proof of completion of all degree requirements prior to starting their appointment in August of 2026.
- The ideal candidate will also have: ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP); experience teaching at the university level; experience supervising speech-language pathology students; and have or be eligible for Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathology licensure.
Qualifications
- All areas of expertise in the discipline will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with teaching and/or research expertise in the following areas: Pediatric Language Disorders, Pediatric Speech Sound Disorders, Adult Neurogenic Disorders, Motor Speech Disorders, Dysphagia, Voice, Speech Science, and Adult Medical.
Skills
Experience: The preferred candidate will demonstrate a record of teaching and scholarship in a relevant field.
