Responsibilities

  • Engage in service duties such as serving on department and college committees, with teaching loads and service expectations aligned with a teaching-focused, non-tenure-track appointment.

Requirements

  • Earned master’s degree from an accredited institution in Business, Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise and current knowledge of artificial intelligence applications in business contexts, including but not limited to generative AI, agentic AI, prompt engineering, AI ethics and governance, decision support systems, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled business processes.
  • Professional experience applying AI, analytics, or related technologies in organizational, consulting, or applied professional settings.

The College welcomes applications from candidates with significant professional experience, including those outside traditional academic career paths. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Candidates will be evaluated on:

  • Degree attainment and academic or professional preparation relevant to AI and business education.
  • Evidence of effective teaching, training, or professional instructional experience.
  • Ability to teach applied artificial intelligence courses at the undergraduate and master’s level.
  • Ability to teach at least one additional functional area of business, depending on expertise.
  • Demonstrated interest in and capacity for collaborating with faculty on AI-related curricular innovation.
  • Ability to translate AI concepts into accessible, managerially relevant learning experiences.

Benefits

This position is eligible for University benefits, including:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Retirement benefits.
  • Educational fee discounts for all four UM System campuses.
