About the role

Associate teachers play a key role in Montessori classrooms, cultivating high quality learning opportunities for infants, toddlers, preschool and Kindergarten aged students (birth through 6 years old). This is a full-time position which works alongside trained Montessori Teachers (as part of a teaching team) to deliver on our mission to develop a lifelong love of learning in our students.

Responsibilities

  • Play a supporting role in the classroom under the direction of trained Montessori teachers and work amongst a team of teachers
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom environment in accordance with Montessori philosophy
  • Provide basic care and active supervision of young children as needed
  • Engage in positive redirection to children and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Communicate with parents as needed on routine matters regarding the health and care of students

Requirements

  • Minimum required CDA or Associate's Degree, or some college coursework
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in a related field (Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development)
