Assistant Supervisor - Quality Assurance (QA)

About the Role

Supervise employees and activities to ensure safe production of a wide range of products in compliance with company, customer, and government requirements, meeting required quality specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of supervisory activities including scheduling, training, coaching, and making recommendations to the QA Supervisor about performance, hiring, and termination decisions.
• Participate in shift transitions and communicate key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
• Prepare routine and special reports documenting testing activities, test results, and operational issues involving product quality and safety (e.g., swab tests, finished product tests, HACCP audits).
• Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (safety, employment, quality, work rules, GMP, HACCP) by communicating requirements, validating understanding, and correcting behavior as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience and education.
• Planning, organizing, coordinating, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Work Environment

• Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
• Comfortable working with heights and in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
