Position Summary

Provides technical expertise and hands-on team leadership in land maintenance, vegetation control, and landscaping operations. Ensures all Springbrook grounds are safe, clean, and well maintained through direct participation, organization, and oversight of grounds-related work.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform routine landscape maintenance including, but not limited to, mowing, trimming, pruning, soil preparation, planting, mulching, and leaf removal.
  • Perform all phases of snow removal including, but not limited to, plowing, salting, shoveling, and roof clearing.
  • Absolute maintenance leadership role through direct workload participation, organization, and oversight of grounds-related activities.
  • Develop and manage staff work plans based on agency needs and goals.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment for staff and the individuals we support.
  • Maintain and enforce agency policies and procedures.
  • Operate land-clearing and earth-moving equipment as needed.
  • Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools in safe and working condition.
  • Absorb accountability for agency equipment and ensure proper care and usage.
  • Respond to emergency situations and on-call requests as required.
  • Adhere to all Springbrook policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, And Knowledge Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited technical or vocational program preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in grounds maintenance and/or construction with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and methods used in lawn care and landscaping.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and methods used in snow removal operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and prioritize workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours and respond to on-call situations as needed.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Sound judgment and reasoning abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must meet requirements to operate a Springbrook vehicle.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
