Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing facility equipment. This includes overseeing building systems, utilities, and grounds while ensuring continuous production operations. This position requires a balance of hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership, with responsibility for supervising maintenance personnel and coordinating contractors across multiple trades.

Position Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance personnel; assign work and provide feedback
  • Schedule and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and equipment installations
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain and execute preventive maintenance CMMS programs
  • Oversee facility utilities (power, steam, air, gas) and building upkeep
  • Coordinate contractors and support capital improvement projects
  • Train team members and ensure compliance with policies and safety standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Perform root cause analysis and failure investigations
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards
  • Coordinate activities of workers for fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products

Position Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a job-related field
  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance with manufacturing
  • Technical or Associate degree preferred
  • Demonstrate mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
  • Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and execute multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Must follow safe work practices and comply with all company, federal, and state rules and regulations which apply to the job, including but not limited to, Right to Know, emergency evacuation, electrical safety, confined space, contractor compliance, bloodborne pathogens, and lockout/tagout
  • Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations regarding occupational health and food safety
  • Ability to perform maintenance department administrative duties
  • Strong computerized maintenance management system knowledge
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationships across departments is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and concise communication skills are required
  • Able to interface with maintenance contractors of various trades, backgrounds, and experience
  • Able to perform and comprehend verbal and written communication in English is required
  • Able to work off-shifts and weekends as needed and be on a rotating on-call schedule
