Assistant Supervisor / Clinical Lab Technologist 1 (Chemistry & Immunology)
Job Summary
The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Chemistry & Immunology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Supervisor / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 1. The successful candidate will:
- Functions as Assistant Supervisor, responsible for the operations of the laboratory.
- Maintains compliance with departmental, hospital, and all regulatory requirements.
- Be in charge and responsible for the operation of the laboratory, and perform day to day laboratory operations, review quality control, and performance improvement activities.
- Timely performance of laboratory testing procedures.
- Train personnel in technical methodology and interpretation of results.
- Record and archive test and QC results.
- Maintain inventory and statistics.
- Determine the need to rotate staff or assign staff additional duties in order to maintain work flow smoothly; schedule and assign staff to specific job functions.
- Assistant in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratories.
- Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description; perform other job-related duties as business needs warrant and/or are necessary.
