Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Aid the production supervisor with the highest level of technical guidance, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Provide support and guidance to team members, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their tasks effectively.
- Maintain production progress, identify bottlenecks or issues impacting productivity, and take appropriate actions to address them.
- Coordinate with the production supervisor to ensure efficient scheduling and resource allocation to meet production targets.
- Participate in production planning meetings, offering input and insights to optimize production processes.
- Monitor and track product quality throughout the production process, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, working with the team to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Train new Lead operators on production processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Support the ongoing training and development of existing team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.
- Collaborate with the production supervisor to identify training needs and opportunities for skills enhancement.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and taking appropriate actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Guide and assist with machine troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as work with others effectively as part of a team is essential.
- Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills; ability to work well in group situations; ability to deal effectively with conflict in a mature & consistent manner.
- Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed.
- Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours due to the nature of the work.
- Must be able to wear the required PPE to enter the plant/complete the tasks.
