Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee all construction-related activities tied to the whole project.
- Collaborate with the Project Management Team to bolster the success of this project.
- Coordinate and direct field personnel to ensure the project’s timely completion, staying within budget, and delivering high-quality work that adheres to plans and specifications.
- Create and maintain the project schedule and oversee its completion.
- Identify potential issues and offer realistic solutions to the Project Management Team to keep the construction schedule on track.
- Inspect or oversee inspections of all contracted work to ensure compliance with contracts and local regulations.
- Schedule and oversee all required municipal inspections and coordinate with utility companies relevant to the project.
- Coordinate and manage all site testing and inspections as agreed upon with the Owners.
- Work with the Project Engineer(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure materials are reserved and deliveries are coordinated with suppliers.
- Maintain good relationships with all Garrett Companies Personnel, the entire design team, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and all applicable municipal representatives.
- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and address any hazards immediately.
- Show commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentorship.
- Prepare and submit Daily Reports detailing weather and field conditions, manpower from trades and subcontractors, project progress, and conditions affecting the project, along with accident reports, quality reports, etc.
- Organize and lead weekly subcontractor meetings.
- Provide bi-weekly progress reports to the Project Management Team, covering the previous two weeks and the upcoming two weeks.
- Attend and assist in running Monthly Progress meetings with the Project Management Team and all applicable subcontractors.
- Train and educate the entire field personnel as needed to ensure a successful project.
- Maintain an organized job site and site construction office.
- Foster a positive work environment to support the professional growth and development of employees.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible field experience managing multi-family construction projects.
- A solid grasp of construction methods, scheduling, codes, inspections, and utility coordination, along with proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- A proven ability to supervise field staff and subcontractors, organize progress meetings, and foster a safe, positive, and professional work environment.
- Exceptional decision-making skills, capable of identifying issues early and implementing effective solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing daily/weekly reports, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining positive relationships with owners, contractors, and municipalities.
