Assistant Superintendent/Inspector
WSP is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Superintendent/Inspector for field offices in Syracuse, NY, with other locations including Albany and Cortland.
About the role
Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and contribute to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves their challenges. This role involves providing construction management inspection for multi-trade contracts to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various project stages and coordinate with the Regional Code Officer.
- Ensure timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget while meeting client needs.
- Perform inspections, prepare construction reports, and expedite contract execution while supervising inspectors.
- Maintain a written daily log of project progress, actions performed, contractor workforce, materials approvals, deliveries, and job site issues.
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, conduct meetings, and communicate with team members in various roles.
- Monitor contractor safety operations and coordinate with the Regional Safety Manager as needed.
- Travel may be required.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects, including supervision.
- Ability to develop and communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance, and perform detailed comparisons of design drawings for trade coordination.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach working with clients and contractors/subcontractors.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- OSHA-30 certification.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements, which may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific needs.

Pay
Expected hourly rate (all locations): $29.24 - $41.80. WSP USA reserves the right to adjust compensation and benefits based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and geographic location.
