A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on a variety of ground-up and renovation projects throughout the Indianapolis market. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging construction professional looking to further develop their field leadership skills while working alongside experienced project teams on diverse commercial projects.The Assistant Superintendent will partner closely with the Superintendent to coordinate daily field activities, maintain project schedules, manage subcontractor performance, promote jobsite safety, and ensure projects are delivered with the highest standards of quality. Key Responsibilities Assist with the day-to-day supervision and coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.Support project schedule execution and help drive milestone completion.Ensure jobsite safety standards are consistently maintained and enforced.Conduct daily site walks and assist with quality control inspections.Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and site logistics.Participate in subcontractor meetings and progress updates.Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project records.Assist with punch list completion, inspections, and project closeout activities.Identify and help resolve field conflicts, scheduling challenges, and constructability issues.Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners. Qualifications 2-8+ years of commercial construction experience.Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar field-based construction role.Experience supporting ground-up and/or renovation projects.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and subcontractor coordination.Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with construction management software and technology is preferred.
