Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary

The Assistant Superintendent holds the responsibility of overseeing daily site construction activities and managing all necessary field personnel to ensure the successful completion of the project within the designated schedule and budget. This encompasses upholding the highest quality standards, supervising trade and field personnel, and implementing effective construction safety practices throughout all on-site activities. The individual holding this position is required to report to a project site five days a week. It is expected that the individual lives within proximity of the project location or the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Affiliate with all aspects of the day-to-day field operations.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with all project team members to maintain project schedule, safety, budget and quality control efforts.
• Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract documents.
• Maintain field productivity.
• Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Ensure timely and safe completion of project, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
• Cook with the Safety Manager to ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety goals.

Mandatory Qualifications

• 0-3 years’ experience with a general contracting company
• A thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe and Bluebeam
• Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, total project schedules, 3-week look-aheads, and other project documents.
• Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner, Subcontractors and experience running owner meetings.
• Availability to potentially work on any shift, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, as hospital construction occurs at all hours.
• Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union required projects.
• Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
• OSHA 30 Certified
