About the role

As an Assistant Superintendent at The Boldt Company, you'll oversee site construction activities, supervise field staff, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and safely. You'll maintain high-quality construction methods and lead outstanding safety practices. This role involves being a key point of contact for project communications, planning, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other field or project leadership in communicating with our subcontractors and employees to deliver consistent expectations and direction regarding schedules, construction methods, company policies and procedures, permits, safety, quality, and other performance standards.
  • Work with our project teams during preconstruction to assist in scheduling, site logistics, and presenting at interviews.
  • Collaborate with field or project leadership to maintain a safe and respectful working environment at all times by implementing safety, EEO, risk management, training, and quality control programs.
  • Know our project specifications, the contract, and the contract's general conditions, and confirm that all materials and subcontract work align with contract documents and quality specifications.
  • Ensure that the work being completed is consistent with client expectations.
  • Ensure our onsite activities are carried out in accordance with Boldt's safety program and applicable OSHA (state and federal) regulations to meet our strategic goal of ZERO Incidents.
  • Attend weekly project progress meetings with all subcontractor representatives and understand the upcoming week's work to be accomplished, including STA Leadership and Boldt Production System (BPS).
  • Facilitate and lead BPS meetings when needed.
  • Absorb responsibility for the project closeout process to settle, demobilize all resources, and transition the project to the customer.
  • Build effective relationships with our customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, AHJ and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.
  • Review and update progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion on a regular basis to support and assist the Project Manager/Superintendent.
  • Represent the company in job site meetings and with clients on the job site.
  • Coordinate with project management to ensure all materials/ equipment are accurately tested according to specifications and ensure all test results are accurately recorded.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractor and field personnel in designated areas of expertise and spend significant time on site providing leadership and oversight of field operations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.

    Requirements

    • Four-year bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field. An equivalent combination of a high school degree with training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Five years industry experience and two years supervisory experience in construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
    • Understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise teams.
    • Basic understanding of craft jurisdiction and working under collective bargaining agreements.
    • Ability to read construction plans, layout projects from scaled plans, operate grade reading equipment (transit and laser level). Total station knowledge is a plus.
    • Ability to show leadership and be calm under pressure.
    • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
    • A valid driver’s license may be required.

    Qualifications

    • Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check.
    • The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the person’s ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.

    Pay

    The anticipated salary range for this position is $112,460 - $148,500 per year. This range represents what The Boldt Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, alignment with market data and internal equity as well as other business and organizational needs.

    Schedule

    The position is primarily remote, but on-site work may be considered based on the candidate’s proximity to our office locations.
