About the role

Csec is seeking an assistant project superintendent in greensboro, north carolina. This role involves scheduling work activities, supervising safety measures, leading hourly field forces, managing labor timesheets, and participating in quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules work activities by producing look ahead schedules and updating the project master schedule.
  • Supervises and leads safety and safety measures in all areas for all trades, performing safety audit checklists.
  • Directly supervises hourly field forces for tasks like carpentry, concrete, general labor, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge of materials needed for safety and self-performed work, coordinating their procurement.
  • Accurately produces and distributes daily reports, ensuring shop drawing information is correctly installed.
  • Participates in subcontractor, owner/architect/contractor meetings to stay informed about the schedule and potential changes.
  • Manages small projects as sole superintendent or closes out larger projects during the final stages.
  • Manages conflicts and disputes, aiming for mutually acceptable solutions aligned with contractual agreements.
  • Maintains data in required information systems or databases, and uses required software.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of work experience in construction or a related job field.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Procore, BIM, and Microsoft Project.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Demonstrated interest in and ability to develop familiarity with the site requirements, tools, methods, and materials of various trade divisions.
  • Ability to provide high-level interactive service to targeted customers, building relationships, and acting as an external organization advocate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, using correct language and grammar in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
  • Highly motivated, passionate, and creative team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong desire for continual improvement in construction management, relationship building, dispute resolution, and communication skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory role.
