Assistant Superintendent
About the role
AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Superintendent for our construction project in Sacramento, CA.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in managing daily field operations for a high-rise project from ground-up through completion
- Cookordination and supervision of subcontractors, trades, and field staff to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with plans and specifications
- Enforce jobsite safety in compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations and company policies
- Maintain daily reports, field logs, and documentation
- Participate in subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and coordination meetings
- Help manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of commercial construction experience or demonstrated of equivalency of experience and/or education
- Preferred Qualifications: 6 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably on high-rise or multi-story projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems
- Familiarity with California building codes and safety regulations
- Experience coordinating multiple trades in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
- OSHA 10
Physical Demands
- Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones
- Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis
Work Environment
- Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation
- These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks
- Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety
