About the role

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in managing and developing a team of associates to ensure optimal customer experiences, effective operations, and adherence to brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Brands: Supervise and support associates in achieving daily goals that maximize sales and customer loyalty. Ensure all brand standards are met, including merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Resolve customer issues and anticipate customer demands.

  • People: Engage, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results. Recruit and manage associates, identifying strengths and opportunities, and addressing them through coaching or counseling. Maintain positive relationships with associates and peers, and ensure compliance with company policies.

  • Operations: Ensure the execution of all company processes, including training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Manage inventory, payroll, and store opening/closing procedures. Follow company directives and complete projects on time.

  • Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensure the store environment is safe and enforce policies related to inventory, cash control, and HAZMAT. Analyze reports and utilize available tools to maintain compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Age 18 or older

  • Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience

  • Minimum 1+ year(s) prior management experience

  • Ability to lead or support a team of associates

  • Effective communication skills

  • Scheduling availability to meet business needs

  • Cosmetology license desirable but not required
