The Assistant Manager role at Sally Beauty is a leadership position that supports the Store Manager in managing and developing a team of associates. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the direction and planning of associates' daily goals and activities to deliver exceptional client experiences.
- Support the Store Manager in achieving key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and consistent accountability.
- Ensure all brand standards are met, including merchandising, POS guidelines, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc.
- Act as the main point of contact to resolve customer issues and concerns.
- Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands.
- Engage, train, and develop the team to achieve positive results.
- Leverage internal hiring platforms and actively recruit to build a strong network of external candidates to fill positions when required.
- Identify strengths and opportunities for each associate and address them through coaching or counseling.
- Hold the team accountable to company policies and expectations.
- Maintain positive associate relations by resolving concerns and keeping associates informed of relevant company information.
- Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Maintain consistency and timeliness in communication with the Store Manager.
- Manage inventory through ordering and shipment processing.
- Manage payroll hours to meet the business's needs and schedule appropriately.
- Ensure all store opening and closing procedures are performed correctly.
- Timely and accurately follow through with company directives, assignments, and projects.
- Ensure the store environment is safe at all times for associates and customers; enforce all policies and procedures.
- Protect company assets by following inventory and cash control procedures related to shrink, damages, banking, etc.
- Analyze and utilize available reporting, tools, and technology.
- Ensure stores are compliant with all HAZMAT training and execution.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred
- At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred
- Ability to lead or support a team of associates to meet business objectives
- Effective communication skills with team and management
- Scheduling availability to meet the needs of the business
- Cosmetology license desirable, but not required
