Assistant Store Manager (Full Time)

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager at PetPeople is a key member of the team who champions the store's mission to be the neighborhood place for natural foods and quality supplies for dogs and cats. This role involves supporting all aspects of store operations, building customer relationships, driving sales, and managing a team of pet enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Store Manager in achieving performance objectives for the store in areas such as customer engagement, driving sales, productivity, presentation, payroll, inventory, etc.
• Builds and maintains long-term customer relationships by engaging with customers through sharing ideas and providing solutions.
• Identifies, interviews, and selects new team members, and works with the Store Manager to onboard, train, coach, develop, and motivate the team.
• Maintains continuous and open communication with the Store Manager on all aspects of store operations.
• Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and directives.
• Works with the Store Manager to manage the store's operations, including merchandising and inventory management.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in retail management (pet industry a plus).
