About the role
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions are integral to fulfilling our mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. They are responsible for a wide range of tasks including sales, merchandising, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service.
- Answer questions about the store and its merchandise, recommend and select products, and assist in locating or obtaining merchandise.
- Help guests with their purchases, manage returns and exchanges, and ensure compliance with store policies.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to achieve sales goals and maintain a high level of showmanship and customer service.
- Investigate ways to expand guest selection and maintain a positive relationship with guests to foster a client-based business model.
- Recruit, train, and develop new teammates, ensuring they meet and exceed Buckle's standards.
- Manage visual merchandise displays and ensure adherence to store visual standards.
- Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Follow loss prevention guidelines and report any security risks or thefts.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, a passion for fashion, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
