The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in various aspects of store operations. Key duties include leading customer service efforts, supervising team members, managing the store during the Store Manager's absence, and assisting in the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs.
  • Aid the store manager in staffing the retail sales counter, particularly during peak hours.
  • Support the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Participate in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
  • Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy and handle buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to manage special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
  • Process retail customer returns and exchanges, issue refunds accurately, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
  • Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store.
  • Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, changes, and team member clocking.
  • Perform store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, money verification, deposit preparation, security checks, and vehicle locking.
  • Maintain the store building, parking lot, exterior signage, lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.

Requirements

  • Sales Specialist Training
  • Assistant Manager Certification
  • RSS Certification
  • Certified Parts Professional Certification (desired)
  • ASE Certification (desired)
  • Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired
