About the role
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs (e.g., Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc…).
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late-afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
- Aid in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
- Avoid delays in processing buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders.
- Avoid delays in processing retail customer returns and exchanges, issuing refunds accurately, and staging returned merchandise correctly.
- Avoid delays in invoicing merchandise, including core charges and warranties.
- Avoid delays in communicating Zipline messages, delegating and completing Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Avoid delays in performing store opening/closing duties, including verifying/securing money/deposits according to company policy, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring all night security lights are on, locking doors and securing building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking/securing/locking delivery vehicle(s) parked in a secure designated area.
- Avoid delays in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant experience in retail or customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

- Sales Specialist Training.
- Assistant Manager Certification.
- RSS Certification.
- Certified Parts Professional Certification.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
