About the role
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in managing and developing the team, ensuring optimal customer experiences, and maintaining brand standards.
Responsibilities
Brands: Supervise and support associates in achieving daily goals and activities to enhance customer experiences, maximize sales/KPIs, and foster customer loyalty. Ensure all brand standards are met, including merchandising, POS guidelines, marketing, backrooms, dress code, etc. Resolve customer issues and anticipate customer demands.
People: Engage, train, and develop the team to achieve positive results. Recruit and hire associates, identify strengths and opportunities, and address them through coaching or counseling. Maintain positive relationships with associates and ensure compliance with company policies. Build strong relationships with Store Manager peers and maintain consistent communication.
Operations: Ensure the execution of company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement. Manage inventory, payroll hours, and store opening/closing procedures. Utilize digital strategies and tools to support operations.
Safety/Loss Prevention: Ensure the store environment is safe for associates and customers. Protect company assets by following inventory and cash control procedures. Analyze and utilize available reporting and tools to ensure compliance with HAZMAT training and execution.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years of age
Minimum 3+ years of retail sales/customer service experience
At least 1+ year(s) of prior management experience
Ability to lead or support a team to meet business objectives
Effective communication skills
Scheduling availability to meet business needs
Cosmetology license desirable, but not required
