Assistant Store Leader-Visual Experience (Burlington, MA)
About the role
At Altar’d State, the Assistant Store Leader of Visual Merchandising leads and supports the Store Leader by directing activities required to achieve all store goals, including best-in-class guest service, sales objectives, operating expenses, loss prevention, and merchandising presentation, while driving both associate and guest engagement. You will provide guests with exceptional service through relationship building, product knowledge sharing, and presenting a clean, well-maintained store environment. Visual Leaders drive excellence and provide leadership in all aspects of the store, with a special focus on elevating visual design, being a seeker of inspiration, and having a thirst for knowledge and the drive to consistently improve results.
Responsibilities
- People: Foster a guest-focused team environment through driving volume and anticipating guest needs; achieve excellent guest service by role-modeling company service standards; proactively provide timely feedback to associates, reward and recognize performance to drive retention; hold self and associates accountable for achievement of financial results and performance standards; manage conflict and coach by applying company’s recommended processes, standards and guidelines; empower and involve associates in decision-making processes; receive feedback and foster dialog around solutions; develop associates through an individualized approach by matching talent with tasks, delegating, and challenging on results; foster team commitment through support, relationship building, and recognizing individual contributions; lead by managing through change and adversity; make recommendations on hiring, promotions, and terminations of team members based on performance; co-conduct and facilitate sales associate and keyholder training.
- Process: Consistently meet or exceed store and individual goals and contribute to the store’s overall goals; plan, execute, and maintain floor sets and refreshes; plan, execute, and maintain window installations; lead floor sets/refresh management; manage seasonal décor placement; co-manage product replenishment; manage mannequin placement and design; co-manage store atmosphere – scent, music, layout; control workflow through successful planning and delegation; execute task directives within designated time frames; complete opening/closing procedures; adhere to loss prevention practices and report potential incidents to ensure shortage control in order to protect company assets; communicate effectively with executive team; must be able to lift and carry heavy boxes (up to 30 lbs.).
- Presentation: Utilize and manage the use of weekly reporting to track, analyze and communicate business results and determine strategies to maximize sales; interpret Home Office visual communication through Store Leader / District Leader partnership; partner with the Visual District Leader to oversee and manage the roll-out of floor sets, window sets, fixture placement and overall visual environment; maintain an awareness of brand aesthetic and relevance to the store environment and communicate with team; manage placement of new product; communicate product performance observations and offer feedback to the Visual District Leader.
Qualifications
- 1 year of retail management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that could require prolonged standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling and/or squatting frequently; may be required to occasionally climb ladders, climb and descend stairs frequently, depending on location.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds regularly without assistance.
