About the role
The Assistant Spa Manager at Scents of Serenity Organic Spa is a key leadership position designed for a candidate looking to build a long-term career in luxury hospitality and wellness. This role requires a significant six-month immersive training program, during which the Assistant Spa Manager will learn all aspects of spa operations, including front desk functions, guest services, and day-to-day leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example to cultivate a positive, professional, and supportive work environment
- Maintain healthy, respectful working relationships while upholding appropriate managerial boundaries
- Support coaching, feedback, and ongoing development of front desk and spa staff
- Uphold company policies, SOPs, and service standards consistently
- Confidently assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Spa Manager or Owner
- Deliver and uphold the highest standards of five-star hospitality
- Address guest concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and with discretion
- Support service recovery and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the spa experience
- Learn and perform all front desk functions, including guest check-in/out, scheduling, memberships, retail, and service recommendations
- Ensure appointments are scheduled efficiently and effectively
- Assist as needed in the call center, front desk, or spa attendant roles
- Perform room audits and ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards are met
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and scheduling software challenges
- Assist with spa events, parties, and group reservations
- Participate in marketing initiatives and promotional opportunities
- Contribute creative ideas to drive membership growth, retail performance, and overall sales
- Support inventory management and communicate supply needs or shortages to the Spa Manager
Qualifications
- Strongly preferred: 2-3 years of management experience in a spa or wellness environment
- Required: 1-2 years of experience in luxury hospitality or service-focused roles
- Demonstrated commitment to leadership growth and long-term professional development
- Consistent schedule is required which would include some evenings and one weekend day (Saturday)
- Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and phone etiquette)
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with technology and scheduling systems (Boulevard experience a plus)
- Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
