Assistant Solicitor-General -Jury Trial Division

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Investigating and prosecuting misdemeanor crimes and Title 40 traffic violations
  • Reviewing case files and ensuring that all relevant evidence has been secured, properly documented, and organized for efficient investigation, prosecution, and disposition
  • Interviewing lay, expert, and law enforcement witnesses
  • Analyze case files and make charging decisions
  • Researching and writing motions and court orders
  • Negotiating with opposing counsel
  • Representing the State in Bench or Jury trials
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • A licensed member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
  • Able to multitask and work under occasionally stressful time constraints

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, while also having the ability to work independently
