About the role
Working under the direction of the Head Coach, oversee the administration of a successful Division I softball program. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assist the softball coach in instruction and on-field needs at all practices and home and away games.
- Conduct on- and off-campus recruiting of prospective student-athletes for the softball program.
- Monitor student-athlete grades and class attendance.
- Organize and oversee softball camps and clinics, including coordinating and managing camp applications and fees, hiring camp workers, and coordinating camp itineraries.
- Organize and order all team gear and equipment and maintain inventory of apparel and equipment.
- Oversee recordkeeping related to softball, including processing and reconciling travel vouchers and receipts and preparing purchase orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of softball coaching experience, or
- Two (2) years as a student-athlete participating in collegiate softball, or
- Two (2) years working in a collegiate softball program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) years of college softball coaching experience or three (3) years’ experience as a student-athlete participating in collegiate softball.
- Experience working with Teamworks.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic level computer literacy skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Effective communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work with a various group of student-athletes.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Understand budgeting principles.
- Knowledge of University, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Work Schedule
Work schedule is a coach work schedule including non-traditional hours including weekends, evenings and holidays are required. Will also travel throughout the season.
Working Conditions
- May work in all weather conditions.
- 25% travel.
